Level 1 International Award 
in Fire Safety

The Level 1 International Award in Fire Safety is a qualification developed by Highfield, the Middle East’s leading supplier of compliance-based qualifications.

Learners gaining this qualification will know that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace and will recognise their contribution in the prevention of fires and fire spread.

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at all staff, particularly new starters, in any workplace where a basic understanding of fire safety is required. 

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake approximately 4 hours of learning.

Topics covered

Topics covered include how fires are caused in the workplace, the fire triangle, hazards during or after a fire, means of escape, fire-fighting equipment and systems, employee and employer duties, fire risk assessments and the role of the fire wardens.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by an end of course, 30 minutes - multiple-choice examination.

Level 2 International Award 
in Fire Safety

This qualification has been developed for anyone involved in the management of fire safety in the workplace. This could include managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at all staff, particularly new starters, in any workplace where a basic understanding of fire safety is required. 

How long will it take?

This international qualification would be typically delivered through a 1-day training course (7 hours).

in Fire Safety for Fire Wardens

Can everybody get out in a potential fire? Are fire exits clear? Is there an assigned assembly point? Fire wardens are an integral part in everyone’s safety at work. Think ‘fire’ before one breaks out - understanding the risks & hazards and know how to manage a situation calmly should a fire ever start.

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification has been designed specifically for those working in the role of a fire safety warden. Fire wardens are individuals who have been designated the responsibility to support the ongoing management of fire safety. Their role is to contribute to the safety of those who may need to be evacuated in the instance of a potential fire safety breach.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification, learners should expect to undertake 8 hours of guided learning.

Topics covered include the hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace. The necessary controls and implementation for fire risks in the workplace. Understanding the role and responsibilities of the nominated fire warden.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by a multiple-choice examination.
